News and Announcements:

· Effective Wednesday, June 23rd, Briggs Pool in Wilber Park and Dewar Pool in Neahwa Park will both be open for the season.  Hours will be 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM for open swim and 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM for family swim.

· Rotary Tee-Ball, Kiwanis Softball, and Kiwanis Baseball schedules are ready.  Click on the link to download:  Tee-ball - Softball - Baseball

 

 

Upcoming Key Dates:

Saturday August 7, 2010:  The 53rd Annual Youth Fishing Derby:  Registration and sign-in 3:00 to 4:00 PM, fishing will be 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM with an award ceremony to follow.  The event is free to all children 5-15 years old.  All participants will be recognized and trophies will be provided to winners from the Susquehanna Bass Association and the Recreation Department.  Children will need their own rod & reel, bait and a clean bucket.

RECREATION DEPARTMENT MISSION STATEMENT

With the advice and consent of the City of Oneonta Parks and Recreation Commission and the Common Council, our mission is to enhance the quality of life of the residents of the City of Oneonta by:

(1) providing safe and challenging recreational programs in response to community needs;
(2) scheduling and coordinating all public and private usage of Oneonta City Parks Facilities;
(3) assisting privately administered recreational programs which are staged at Oneonta City Parks Facilities.
