On January 1, 2008 at approximately 2:25 A.M. members of the Oneonta Police Department Patrol Division responded to an in-progress fight which they observed occurring on Water Street in the City of Oneonta, New York.

Upon patrols' arrival to the scene, an involved party attempted to flee the area, but was apprehended after a short foot pursuit. This person was identified as a 23 year old male by the name of Nakia A. Facey. Pursuant to an investigation into the incident, it was discovered that Mr. Facey had allegedly stabbed two individuals during the altercation.

One of the victims, a 25 year old male from Binghamton, New York, received a puncture wound to his torso and hip.  He was subsequently transported to A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital where he was treated and later released. The second victim, a 21 year old female from Bronx, New York, received a deep laceration to her right wrist.  This female was transported to Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, New York where she underwent surgery for her injury. She is currently listed in stable condition.

As a result of this incident, two counts of second degree assault were filed against Mr. Facey.  Second degree assault is a class D felony which carries a maximum term of imprisonment of seven years for each count.  Mr. Facey, of Oneonta, New York is being held at the City of Oneonta Police Department pending his arraignment in Oneonta City Court.
