|
General Park Rules
- Park Hours: 7:00 AM to 10:30 PM
- 15 MPH Speed Limit
- No littering, vandalism, or open fires
- Leash and Pooper Scooper Laws are in effect
- Reserved Field and Pavilion Use by Permit Only
- Parking in Designated Areas Only
- No alcohol without a permit
- No golfing or fishing
- Noise Ordinance is in effect

Swimming Pool Rules
- All patrons must be clean and/or take a shower before entering the pool
- All patrons must wear proper swim attire. No tee shirts, cut-offs, etc.
- All children under the age of 7 years must be accompanied by an adult
- All large groups of patrons must report to lifeguard upon arrival
- All doubtful swimmers must pass appropriate swim test before being allowed in diving pool or deep water of main pool
- No diving
- No dunking, splashing, cannonball, etc. in pool
- No running allowed in pool area
- Family swim daily 6-8 PM. Youth under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult
- No artificial floats, ball, noodles, etc. allowed at any time
- No gymnastics on ladders or congregating around walkways or stands
- No horseplay in basket room, locker rooms or lavatories
- No glass, alchohol, chewing tobacco, smoking or food in pool
- Do not leave personal articles on lifeguard stand
- We are not responsible for valuables left in baskets or locker rooms, etc.
- Patrons over 6 years (except parents) may not congregate in wading pool
- Patrons must leave pool immediately when ordered by lifeguards
- Patrons must observe all directions of lifeguards on duty
- Lifeguards will enforce above rules and may suspend patrons
Briggs Pool Diving Area Rules
- Non swimmers not allowed in diving pool
- Patrons under 14 must be tested by guards
- Only one diving board may be used. Guards will designate which board is to be used
- One patron at a time allowed on diving board
- No diving from sides of pool or boards
- Make sure water is clear before dive
- No cannon balling, horeseplay or unsafe dives
- No body somersaults (flips) allowed
- No inverted dives allowed. Diver must be facing away from the board and must dive straight ahead
- No swimming around in the diving pool
- Use ladders to exit pool
- Obey all directions of lifeguards
Wading Pool Rules
- Children under 7 years must be accompanied by adult
- Patrons over 6 years may not congregate (except
parents or guardians)
- No artificial floats allowed at any time
- All other pool rules are in effect
Regular Pool Hours: Open Swim from 1:00 PM - 6:00
PM; Family Swim from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
Early season and late season hours subject to change.
Dewar Pool Capacity: 150 patrons
Briggs Pool Capacity: 390 patrons
Prohibited: No bags, backpacks, duffel bags,
coolers, large containers, baby strollers, etc. allowed
in pool area unless contents are inspected by door
monitor.

Ice Skating Rules
- No alcoholic beverages on ice or in skatehouse
- No smoking anywhere in skatehouse or on ice
- No pets (dogs, etc.) of any kind allowed on ice: owner responsible
- No ropes sleds, mechanical devices or glass objects of any kind allowed on ice or in skatehouse
- No babies (infants) allowed on ice under any conditions
- Children under 7 years must be accompanied on ice by an adult
- No one (except accompanying adults) allowed on ice without wearing skates
- No games of any kind allowed. No tag, racing, whip, etc. allowed at any time
- No one allowed on ice when maintenance (parks) crews are working
- Skateguards/attendants will maintain order on ice and in skatehouse and my suspend patron(s) violating any rules and regulations
- The City of Oneonta will not be responsible for loss, damage, or theft to cars and their contents nor the private property brought by patrons to pond, skatehouse, dryland rink, and/or surrounding areas
- No hockey allowed during recreational skating

Tennis Court Rules
- No pets, dogs, etc.
- No skateboards
- No roller skates
- No rollerblades
- No bicycles or motor bikes
- No floor hockey
- No picnic-food, etc.
- No dark soled shoes, tennis footwear only
- Noise Ordinance is in effect

Skateboard Park Rules
- Facility is not supervised: Skate at your own risk
- An adult must accompany skaters under the age of 10
- Skaters assume all risks associated with the use of this facility
- Skaters must wear appropriate safety gear: helmet, kneepads, elbow pads, and wrist/hand guards
- Only skates and skateboards are allowed. Bicycles and scooters are prohibited
- Do not use facility if hazardous conditions exist. Report damage and hazards to the Department of Public Service at (607) 432-2100.
- The following are prohibited: loud music, food and beverage, graffiti and defacing city property, profanity, and smoking.

Other Park Regulations
- Many areas in the parks are designated "No Smoking." All posted non smoking areas must be observed at all times.
- Fields are not to be used if soft, muddy, wet, or if any other unsafe condition exists. Please call the Department of Public Service if an unsafe condition needs to be addressed at 432-2100.
- Team sports are prohibited on city fields without a permit. Permits are granted by the Parks and Recreation Commission, liability insurance is required
- Children under the age of 16 may not remain in the park after 9:00 PM without a parent or guardian
- No person shall cut, injure, or destroy any plant life within a city park
- No hunting or fishing except that fishing in the Susquehanna River is permitted
