Department Apparatus and Equipment
Car 1 - 2006 Ford Expedition
This vehicle replaces a 1996 Chevy Suburban.  Placed into service in late June 2006, this vehicle serves as our Chief's vehicle, Command Vehicle for major incidents, a personnel carrier, and is certified as a fly car to be used in any capacity the department needs to use it.

Car 2 - 2001 Ford F-350
Primary operation of this vehicle is for responses to all brush and grass fires.  This unit carries 180 gallons of water with a 750gpm pump piped to the tank, all brush fighting equipment, and extra portable water tanks. 

 


A-3 - 2006 Ford F450
Newest to the ambulance fleet is this Ford that replaced a 1996 Freightliner.  Placed into service in late August 2006.  This unit is equipped the same as the other 2 ambulances inside and out.

A-36 - 1999 Ford
This unit is another of our three ambulances.  This unit was the first that the department had insta-chains installed on to aid in operation during the winter months.

A-37 - 2003 Ford E450
This unit was built by American LaFrance and replaced a 1990 Ford, and rounds out our fleet of ambulances.  Body and interior configuration are almost identical to A-36.

R-114 - 2001 Ford F350 4x4 Light Rescue
This unit operates as the department’s second rescue truck.  Added to its equipment is many of the water rescue equipment that is used by the members of the department.  No water is carried on this unit.

E-35 - 2000 Spartan Heavy Rescue/Pumper
This unit is the department’s primary rescue truck that responds to all motor vehicle accidents.  Unit carries 500 gals of water,2 full sets of TNT Extrication Tools, set of Rescue Air Lift Bags, all heavy rescue tools, and is used as the FAST Team response vehicle.

E-38 - 1989 Hahn Pumper
The oldest of all the engines, this unit carries 1000 gallons of water with a 1750 gpm pump.  Primary use is for response to the non hydrant areas, and also as the second due engine to major fires.  Vehicle is equipped with the same equipment as the other engines.

E-34 2004 Ferrara Pumper
This unit is first out unit to all fire responses.  A six man cab enables the duty crew to deploy on 1 unit.  Carries 1000 gals of water with a 1750 pump.  The newest thermal image camera is also found on this unit to enable crews quick access to finding hot spots.

E-33 - 1992 KME Telequirt
Used primarily as an elevated master stream, this unit has a 75’ ladder with a 4” piped waterway. Unit carries 500 gals of water and is the initial mutual aid aerial unless the platform is requested.  A six man cab makes deployment with only one unit when necessary.

T-1 - 1987 Baker 95 ft Aerial Platform
This unit responds to all high risk areas within the department’s response district.  Primary responses to the Business District, State College, the 10 story Adult Living Complex, and Mutual Aid requests.

Zodiac Inflatable Boat
In the spring of 2005, this unit was added to enhance our water responses.  Unit features a 4 stroke motor, 6 member carry load, and the motor remains mounted at all times.  Boat is towed via a trailer that was retrofitted to fit this unit specifically.

 

 

 
Avon Inflatable Boat
This a secondary boat used for water rescues.  Stored non-inflated to enable access to remote sites.  Filled with SCBA tanks and a special regulator, this 2 stroke motored unit is an added resource to our water responses and is always deployed with primary boat.

Trailer Mounted Generator
Unit was acquired to be used during Y2K.  Primary use at this time is to provide power to numerous buildings that have been specially wired, during extended power outages.  Power is also provided to events needing multiple power sources.

 

 

 

Trek Bikes
These are used by members of the department’s bike team.  These units are equipped with Medical Supplies that members use to treat any emergencies during special events prior to an ambulance transport to the local hospital.
